Where to start?

First things first, we are now the proud owners of this lovely home and we couldn't be more excited!

But what do you get when you move out of a one bedroom apartment into a 3 bedroom house? Lots of projects and furniture to purchase. We have given ourselves a pretty daunting task, considering we are going to have a house warming party in a couple of weeks...to say the least I have become a craigslist addict and so far have purchased a wooden patio set and a dining room table/chairs...want to see those lovely little projects?

What's that you say? That table doesn't look like it needs much work? Oh but some pictures can be decieving! That picture was the listing picture on Craigslist. Here is a picture I took last night:

So the previous owners had only stained the table (minus the leaf) and 4 chairs (minus the 2 head chairs)....So we are going to sand it all down and start from scratch. We chose a really pretty deep mohonony stain, we will see how well it turns out. Maybe we can get this done by the 15th of May, ha!

We decided not to purchase new items, instead we wanted to have unique pieces that we could refinish and bring back to life. I am a lover of all things vintage and we are hoping to give these pieces an antique look.
